Client Children's Science Museum
Client Challenge Prominent children's science museum's current website was challenged by portraying the size and breadth of offerings at their current location. Their unique structure and interactive nature were being lost on the current site.
Solution Research on children's interaction online showed that interactive flash pieces were more effective than self-playing flash movies to engage young children. Two levels of navigation were chosen to appeal to both the curious, first-time user as well as the more familiar user who is looking for quick links of general admission and contact information. Multiple client-managed elements were designed into the homepage to allow for fresh content that will be easy for the client to update. Finally, a graphic of the museum building was employed as the main visual focus to give visitors a fun, recognizable element to which they could immediately relate upon visit.
This site was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Website Design by the Web Marketing Awards.
